The Bones About Kenya

Hey everyone, I hope that you are all doing well.  Mother Nature is still up to her old tricks and trying to get everyone sick with colds and allergies.  But I think we will all prevail (in the overbearing heat of the summer!!).

Well, onto something non-allergic.  Inchies!  This week over at Every Inchie Monday the world tour stops at Kenya.  While looking into Kenya I found out that Kenya is the place where Scientist believe that the earliest known human fossils were found!  How cool is that!  So I decided to make a skull on top of the Kenya flag.  The red eyes are kinda ominous!

Also this last week I joined Yes.fit and joined a race!  I have been waiting to do that for a while now.  Ever since one of the Inchie bloggers, Penstrokes by Cathy posted about joining Yes.fit and winning 2 races, I have wanted to join.  So I finally did that last Thursday.  I joined Shake your tail feathers.  It is 78.5 miles and the award looks like a Peacock.  I am pretty excited about it.  Thanks Cathy for introducing me to this awesome site.  I have even gotten the nurse at work to look into doing a corporate event for us at work.  I will keep everyone up-to date on this race.

I also did alot of beading this weekend.  I finished my family charms.  Something that I have been wanting to do for a long time.  Each charm represents someone in my family.  Liverpool bird is for my son, the black cat is for my daughter.  Chicago Cubs is my brother Toms.  The Navy anchor is my dad.  The motorcycle is for my late husband.  The 4 feathers is mine.  The camera is my sisters.  The cardinal is for my Mom, and the boat is for my brother.  But to be fair I am planning on redoing his to be more like the boat that he was a captain of instead of a sailboat.

I designed all of these charms except for the motorcycle and the cardinal (I don't know who designed the cardinal, if anyone does please let me know so I can correct this, thanks).  I really love these.  I will work on the new tug boat this week and hope to have it next weekend.

That is it for me this week.  Don't forget to fly on over to EIM and check out the great work over there and join the world tour!  Until next week, have a blessed and creative week my friends.

Eye See You!

Hey everybody, how's it going?  I am doing well.  We are all safe and sound here.  There was tornadoes here but luckily we were spared from them.   The other side of the state; not so much!  There was a few tornadoes.  One biggie that was so big it actually had tornadoes inside of itself!  OH. MY. GOSH!

Besides the weather, (Mother Nature needs to get it together!!!), I got to go to a handmade Craft fair.  I went by myself and thoroughly enjoyed myself!  I saw many awesome looking, smelling and tasting things.  I even bought a few fun things.

I also got to travel on the Inchie World Tour!  This week over at Every Inchie Monday the current stop is Egypt.  What a great place to be visiting.  So much history and beautiful archaeology.  Some of you may remember back in 2015 I posted an amulet bag that I made for my daughter for her college graduation.  It was Egypt themed, as she loves everything Egypt.  For those who have not seen it check it out here.   It was a labor of love and she really deserved it.

That being said, I just knew what I was going to to when Egypt came up in the lineup this year.  I did the Eye of Ra.  Super easy design and fun to do.

That is it for me this week.  A quick post for sure.  Don't forget to fly on over to EIM and check out the great artwork over there.  Have a blessed and creative week my friends.

Do You Peru?

This week over at Every Inchie Monday the world tour stops in Peru.  I am not really into Peru.  Especially since last year I somehow magically bought a ticket to Lima, Peru!  Luckily, after changing all my passwords, filling out fraud paperwork and waiting 10 days I got my money back!  Phew!!!

But since we are here in Peru why not sample a bit of the local cuisine.  Did you know that in Peru they really, I mean REALLY, love their Guinea Pigs.  Especially baked or grilled!  I think I will turn vegetarian for this trip!  LOL  That said I decided to make a cute little living guinea pig for my inchie.

Isn't he cute?  Too cute to eat I think, lol.  Well that is it for me this week.  Don't forget to fly on over to EIM and check out the great art.  I do feel a bit hungry.  I think I will go find something to snack on!  ;)

Have a blessed and creative week!

Got Pretzels?

Hey everyone, thanks for flying on over here.  This week over at Every Inchie Monday the theme is Germany.  When I think of Germany I think of many things but my favorite is the pretzel!  I mean who doesn't love a great pretzel?!?  Lately the pretzel has gone mainstream by being turned into pretzel bread for restaurants, and I am SO GLAD!  Because it is amazing!

When I think about pretzels I think about when my daughter was little and we used to go to this mall and buy triple threat popcorn (cheddar cheese, butter and caramel popcorn all mixed together) and a pretzel with cheese.  By time my son came along we no longer went to the mall, we just went to Walmart.  They did not have the triple threat but the pretzels were fantastic!

So, of course, I had to make a pretzel for my inchie.

This one is not as tasty as the ones I love but almost as pretty.

Also this week I finished 1/4 of my temperature necklace. If you don't know what that is, it is a necklace that shows in colors the low and high temps of each day.  I really am loving the look of it.  I had to change the original design that I started with.  It was just not working out right.  So after redoing and getting 3 months into it, I love the color flows in it all.

The darker colors are January and the lighter colors are March.  If you can look and see near the end you will see a small flash of orange, that is an 80 degree day!  I think this is going to look so cool when it is done.

Well, that is it for me this week, don't forget to fly on over to EIM and check out the world tour.  I would love to see you all join in!  Have a blessed and creative week my friends.
