Don't Get Your Peacock Feathers in a Ruffle!

Hey everyone.  I hope that you are all staying dry and safe from this crazy weather.  We are well and dry.  This one is going to be a quick one as the weather has been unkind to our internet!  Imagine that!  So while I have the internet I will write quickly and post fastly.  pfffft!

This week over at Every Inchie Monday the theme is Peacock.  Peacocks are kinda special to me.  Because they were special to my late husband.  Because his mothers maiden name was Peacock.  I also like peacocks just because they are beautiful.  A neighbor down the street has/had 2 of them.  One of them was an albino peacock.  Sooo pretty!!!

My peacock inchie is not as beautiful as that one, and, by the by, way WAY, WAY quieter than the real thing.  But my inchie has 5 colors of Delicas.  I also went the way of semi-metallic peacock-ness.

Hope you liked my peacock feather inchie and don't forget to fly on over to EIM and check out the rest of the beautiful birds.  Have a blessed and creative week my friends.

Birds, Soup and Alphabets

Thanks for stopping by everyone.  I love hearing from you all and reading your comments.  I hope that this finds you all in warm (hopefully pollen-free) weather.  I am working on morphing my allergies into yet another cold!  BLEH!

But before that happens let me have some alphabet soup.  Over at 2x2x2, our awesome blogstress Cstocks is celebrating 3 year anniversary with the theme Alphabet!  You would think that would be an easy theme.  But I had to work really hard to figure out what I would do.  I think I was sick with a cold when I designed this one as well!!

After I designed this one I started watching these cute little videos from my favorite hockey team The Chicago Blackhawks, entitled "Soup and a Sandwich".  For those who don't follow hockey; Soup is Brian Campbell, nicknamed Soupy because of his last name.  Sandwich is Artemi Panarin, nicknamed Breadman because of his last name sounding so much like Panera Sandwich Co.  So this video is the 3rd one and I liked it because it has some jokes in it.  One of which was about ducks which was our theme 2 weeks ago at EIM.  Check it out.  BTW, check out that awesome sweater?!?

Also this week over at Every Inchie Monday the theme is woodpecker.  We used to hear woodpeckers a lot around here but I think this weather has them all confused.  But I decided to make a red headed woodpecker.  At least I think that is what this one is.  LOL

Whatcha think?  I like him.  He is the quietest woodpecker EVER!  LOL.

That is it for me this week.  I have been working on my designs from the beads I got from the bead swap from the Facebook group Bead Peeps.  But it is slow going for me on that one.  I will show something next week, hopefully.

Until then don't forget to fly on over to EIM and 2x2x2 to check out the great work over there.  Thanks for stopping by and have a blessed and creative week my friends.

Come Heron or High Water!

Sheesh, thinking up titles for the posts kinda gets cheesy, lol.  I have been waiting for this one since I researched Heron, the theme over at Every Inchie Monday this week.

Being one to not just bead up a skinny bird (funny, that, coming from freebird!) I went a different way.  Also, beading a heron in an inch is really difficult!  I started researching Heron and found a place called Heron Foundation.

Heron Foundation helps people get themselves out of poverty by investing.  Here is their logo.  I just love that swoosh of the R

Since even this Heron is so big I had to use a partial design and here is what I came up with.

Forgive the shine from the camera.  I like how it came out either way.

That is it for me this week.  I have been working on a beading project from the Facebook group Bead Peeps.  But I have nothing to show for it right now.  Maybe next week!  Until then, don't forget to fly on over to EIM and check out the heron artwork.  Until next week have a blessed and creative week my friends.

Chickens, Ducks and Peppermints, OH MY!!

Hey everyone, glad to be back after a week off.  For those who might have missed it, last week I had my gallbladder taken out.  I am doing good.  I will be going back to work on Thursday and will be on light duty for 4 weeks.  Luckily that wont stop me from doing my beadwork!

I did wait until Friday before I beaded, not because I couldn't do it but because I was not up to it.  I also found it hard to explain to the furbabies that I can not hold them or let them sit in my lap.  They don't listen AT ALL!  My cat kept wanting to sleep ON the spot where my gallbladder used to be.  But she has been climbing on me when I sleep and sleeping on my hip.  WHY?!?

So let's get to what I missed last week.  Last week over at Every Inchie Monday the theme was Rooster.  So I went a different way on this one (of course).  I work for the biggest chicken producers in the world and so you can guess what came to my mind.  Chicken nuggets and drumsticks.  So I decided to make a drumstick since I figured nuggets wouldn't look recogniseable.

Here I used 3 colors of Delicas and made the inchie look like it might have came from "The Colonel".  Funny that I used to drumstick since I am not a fan of the dark meat chicken.

Now for this week over at EIM the theme is Duck.  What a fun theme.  So many ways to go on this one.  First off I thought about the Peabody hotel and the Ducks.

If you have never seen this or heard of the Peabody, check this out.  So adorable!

But I decided that I was going to go the route of the rubber ducky.  So here is my little rubber ducky.

I think he is cute and would make a great charm.  I might have to make that happen!

Also this week over at 2x2x2 the theme is Peppermint.  I really had the hardest time trying to think of something good for this theme, and the only thing I could think of was a close up of a peppermint candy.

That is it for me this week.  Don't forget to follow the links and check out the other blogs and all the great artwork over there.  Have a blessed and creative week my friends and for those dealing with the bad weather please stay safe,
